đź’› HEART BLINDNESS?
Some migrants reach midlife carrying invisible battles:
Underemployment.
Stalled careers.
Unfulfilled dreams.
Loneliness.
The uncertainty of staying—or returning home.
Caught between survival and belonging, aspiration and reality, we quietly wonder:
Can I afford to pursue my dreams?
Am I good enough?
Why am I so stuck?
What am I missing?
Who am I becoming?
Then I encountered my future self—and the tears came.
Perhaps I had been searching only at the surface.
Mum keeps going in circles.
Dad remains as stubborn as ever.
Yet beneath their behaviour are deeper stories:
Dad grew up without a father.
Mum once lived through poverty.
Perhaps they, too, were simply trying to survive.
And what about me?
After years in business, could I still become an author or teacher? Amid financial pressure, relationships and postponed dreams—is there still hope?
Yes.
Feeling lost does not mean I have no direction.
Feeling stuck does not mean my story is over.
And questioning my life may be the beginning of finding myself again.
My eyes may sometimes fail to see the way forward—but my heart is not blind.
It still remembers who I am.
It still knows what matters.
And it still dares to hope. đź’›
